In officieel beschermde gebieden worden de pompoenen verbouwd. Daarna worden de pompoenpitten op hoogwaardige wijze verwerkt als eindproduct en koudgeperst tot een hoogwaardige smaakvolle en voedzame olie. Pompoenzaadolie is een ongelooflijk veelzijdige dressing en finishing olie. De olie is te gebruiken in salades en op pasta, risotto, soepen, stoofschotels, gestoomde groenten, gekookt vlees, koude vleeswaren, gebak, taart en vanille-ijs. Uitermate geschikt voor vegetarische gerechten en ideaal als additief voor gezondheiddrankjes, zoals slowjuices van fruit en groenten. Daarnaast is de pompoenzaadolie lekker over bijvoorbeeld popcorn en mais(gerechten) of is deze te gebruiken als brooddip en als smaakmaker voor dressings, eieren en groenten.
