Maar wat blijft je nou het meeste bij uit die periode is de vraag altijd aan dochter. Daar hoeft ze niet lang over na te denken: ‘toen die koffieboon in m’n neus vastzat.’
\nEn inderdaad ja, ‘wat kan koffie toch lekker ruiken’, bedacht Rajacenna reeds op driejarige leeftijd, terwijl ze een koffieboon uit een bakje pakte, dat op de bar stond, om het gekke gevalletje eens nader te onderzoeken.
\nEen vreemd gevalletje is zo’n koffieboon wel om te zien, maar hij ruikt toch zo lekker, zo dacht ze, terwijl ze het boontje al snuivend naar haar neus bracht. En floep, weg wassie, verdwenen in haar neusgat. “ik kreeg meteen een paniekaanval”, herinnert dochter zich nog. Ondanks dat ze in paniek was, huilde ze daar niet bij, dat deed ze toch al nooit zo gauw. Ze dacht dat ie er nooit meer uit zou kunnen, zegt ze later. Nadat ik ook lichtelijk in paniek was geraakt, begon Jaco, de kalmheid zelve, aan een nadere analyse hoe ‘het ding’ er weer uit te krijgen. De koffieboon zat flink diep en er moest echt iets creatiefs worden gevonden, en snel. Jaco bedacht dat de boon er door het snuiven in was gekomen. De enige logische oplossing zag hij dan ook in een omgekeerde actie: snuiten! Hij legde dochterlief uit dat ze veel lucht door haar mond moest inademen, daarna haar mond dicht moest doen en Jaco zelf hield haar open neusgat dicht terwijl hij ons onfortuinlijke koffieboonsnuifstertje uitlegde dat ze nu hard moest snuiten. Dat was wel een goed idee en kwam er eerst wat bloed uit en het bleek pas na een vier tot vijf keer succesvol. Pfff, wat een opluchting voor dochterlief, en tegelijkertijd een ervaring om nooooit meer te vergeten, maar ze wil daar toch liever niet meer aan herinnerd worden, want het had allemaal een heel diepe indruk op haar gemaakt, zo zegt ze nu nog.
