Your own tiny portable personality disorder
Breaking news: I bought a portable personality disorder.
I’m starting to become seriously concerned about artists.
Normal people put keys, a wallet and maybe a sandwich in their bag.
Artists?
They voluntarily walk around carrying a complete emergency kit in case they’re suddenly overcome by an uncontrollable urge to immortalize a tree, a duck or a suspicious-looking blade of grass right there on the spot.
And then apparently someone thought:
“You know what’s still missing? A paint box the size of a breadcrumb.”
Naturally, my brain thought this was an excellent idea.
Because imagine being on your way to the supermarket when you’re suddenly struck by an acute creative panic attack and there isn’t any watercolor paint available within a twelve-metre radius.
Obviously, you can’t take that risk.
So nowadays there’s a tiny wooden box that can hold approximately one complete artist identity crisis.
Naturally, I investigated just how serious this condition has become.
And it’s pretty serious.
